Milestones of Digital Regulations in European Union Law

The European Union entered the new decade impressively in terms of digital regulation and transformed several long-term efforts into new legislative frameworks. Digital services are regulated by the Digital Services Act and the Digital Services Act. The General Data Protection Regulation will be supplemented by new data policies in the form of the Data Act and the Data Governance Act. Artificial intelligence systems will be subject to the Artificial Intelligence Act. A Regulation on European Data Spaces, an Act on Cyber Resilience or rules for political profiling and the fight against terrorist content are being prepared. The section will also address these regulatory issues, the challenges and opportunities the new regulations bring and their implications for the digital space.
